How To Add A Locket Photo

Before choosing your locket, it’s likely you already have in mind what photo you would like to store within its casing.

The first step is to transfer the photo from your camera or mobile phone onto your computer. You can then resize your photo, remove red-eye and add any digital effects (e.g. merging pictures) that you require using a graphics editing program such as Photoshop.

When you are happy with the size and look of your photo, print a copy using your printer. If you want your photo to last a long time, choose thick paper, possibly with a special finish to ensure longevity.

Once you have your photo printed out, you will need to carefully cut around the edges of the photo with scissors. Next, insert your photo into the locket. Oval shaped lockets are easier to squeeze photos into as there are fewer edges to press into place. Heart shaped lockets require more patience.

Using tweezers for precision, secure your photo inside your locket. Some lockets include plastic inserts to go over your photo and hold it securely in place.

If your photo moves or you think it may fall out when the locket is opened, use a little glue to hold the photo in place. Allow time for the glue to dry, then close your locket and it will be ready to wear.
